TiVu Restaurant in Munich

We heard about this restaurant because of a newspaper report from the Münchner Merkur. We found it very good for take-away. Due to Corona, the menu is a bit small. But the quality of the food was great and we would visit the restaurant if we could eat there again.

Great food and atmosphere. I was here with my family for a birthday and it was a very nice evening. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

Very good food, unusual and experimental. If you like that, you are in good hands here. However, nothing for the small budget. So rather something special

Best vietnamese food ever

It is completely contrary to your imagination: 1. By visiting their Website and menu I thought it is a sophisticated restaurant, but it turns out to a noisy and crowded place. 2. It is well-decorated and -furnished, and the tableware is also carefully selected. All that made up my mind that it shall be at least not a causal place. But it is club-like, you have to speak loudly to ensure your partner can catch your words... 3. Thought it is €€, actually €€€. We spent 90€ for two (didn't order a bottle of wine) not get full. We ate then two Brezels with Obatzda afterwards. 4. Does Vietnamese really eat that sweet? We ordered various dishes, including duck rolls, water spinach , baby ribs, green pepper beef, pork belly, and ginger prawns, as well as a bowl of rice. Besides the rice, they all very sweet. If you do concern "Sugar", be carefully.

I went to a bar with a good atmosphere to drink with my friends. The inside of the store is said to be full, so we took a seat outside, and as soon as the waiter came to our seat, he said, "Would you like some water? Sparkling water or plain water?” It was this. As a person living in Germany, I've been to many restaurants in Germany, but I've never seen a waiter ask if I want to drink water right before giving me a menu and ask what kind of water I want to eat before answering, so I said,'Oh, the service is so good.' I thought and said I knew. Then the waiter gave us a lot of water and brought a menu with water. We looked at the menu and decided what to order, and we were waiting for the waiter. But the waiter did not come after 10 minutes and the waiter came out of the store. We didn't come to us first, we just kept chatting with our close friends before and after our table. So we should have called the waiter in person all the time, and it was cold in the evening while we were drinking, so we asked the waiter if there was still room inside because while we were sitting outside, we saw a lot of people going out. After asking if there was a seat inside, we told us that there was no room without explanation. After we said that it was cold, so we wanted to go quickly, and we wanted to pay. But I want to pay, but the waiter doesn’t come well, so I went to the store to pay the bill. After he said he wanted to, the waiter came out and paid the bill. The waiter gave me a receipt, and the receipt included the water price. Even each one we drank was more expensive for water than alcohol. So we said, "I thought water was a service...;" and the person said, "What?" with a ridiculous expression. Still, we tipped, and he was sarcastic and thanked and gave a change and didn't get the tip. If you don’t get a tip, you can ask if you should like it, but I wasn’t in a very good mood because I talked in a bad mood. For this reason, I do not recommend this store. The waiter's service was really bad and it's probably good for those waiters and those who have close friends in the store.

Great service, very friendly and attentive. Elegant restaurant. Dishes are very small, but then quite expensive. Tastes ok but not appropriate for the price. There are much better taste experiences in Munich at other Vietnamese restaurants. Unfortunately we would not come again.

Have never experienced such bad service in my life. The waiter was more interested in personal conversations with other guests than in work. Were always served only after repeated requests. And that is still semi-professional. Food was okay. However, since I felt very unwelcome and I don't want to be treated disrespectfully as a paying guest, I would not recommend this place to others.

Great restaurant with great food and a large wine list! Highly recommended for a nice evening. But you definitely have to make a reservation! We look forward to the next visit

A visually very cool shop and really good food. But what I like best is the cynical staff ...... not for fun. And whether you like it or not, you come out drunk and full of food. Great concept!

Great food and great service. The ginger prawns are just lovely. I just love the concept to try and there is something for everyone. Wines are also very good and advice is given here.

Quite an interesting experience ! many flavours and textures, those "tapas style" dishes are all very unique. i don´t know if vietnamese per say but it was for sure really tasty. count 8-10 euros for a tapas plate min Staff is really friendly, guiding you on how to best experience the dinner the schrimp dumplings and ginger schrimps were def my favorite ! little disapointment on the pork belly which was really dry

Super delicious food, especially the dumplings with homemade dip are highly recommended. Unfortunately our waiter was terrible (the other waitresses seem to have been friendlier) so deducted one point.

After another bad experience today, I was at first about to leave a negative review here - but decided against it, as it is well known that you do not want to harm anyone .. Apparently I accidentally left a bad review without a comment and now received an unnecessarily outrageous comment from the restaurant for it (you could have simply asked professionally, seriously and politely why the customer was unsatisfied). That's why I decided to leave an honest and well-founded review here: Positive: The food is really very good from a culinary point of view, we like to eat in this restaurant, especially since there are few reasonable alternatives in Asian cuisine in the area. The service is also extremely friendly, there is nothing to complain about here. Negatives: In terms of price, however, for both the quality (I'm used to much better in this price range) as well as the ambience and the portion size more than exaggerated! The portions are clearly tapas-sized, but the prices correspond to full main courses. So absolutely inappropriate for lunch, which is also shown by the fact that there are usually very few customers to be seen at lunchtime. Much worse, however, we find the absolutely arrogant and very unfriendly behavior of the Asian owner (assuming that it is the owner). Both when making a reservation, in the restaurant and on the phone, each time more than rude. Here, as a customer, you really feel that you are not valued or treated seriously. We go out to eat a lot and I've actually never seen anything like it! Really bottomless ... Conclusion: classic example of excellent cuisine with disastrous management! Better leave the job to qualified people ... The restaurant doesn't seem to be doing particularly well either. It's a shame, the restaurant would have had potential! I would also have liked to have saved myself this review.

A lovely restaurant. Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Ambience 5/5 An interesting concept of Vietnamese tapas executed exceptionally well. The water spinach was nice and crispy. The ginger prawns was delicious with such a well balanced sauce. The TiVu special beef so juicy, sweet and spicy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is on the expensive side, but the food, service and experience is worth it. This is also a perfect place for a date, to share food.

Excellent food. Very tasty. Super friendly stuff and speak English, which is great for non- German speakers. Portion size were rather small and a bit overpriced.

Great food, very refined and unexpected! The menu is very interesting and so is the wine selection. Our service was terrific and we will be back soon.

The food to go is fantastic. I've been to the restaurant several times as a normal customer dining in. And since last week the boys reopened again and the food is nothing short of superb like when I was dining in. Though what's different are the portion sizes. Stay strong and healthy through these times.

We went to have the Lunch menu and we ate extremelly good for 12,90€. Nice restaurant with great service. We will come back to hace their Vietnamese Tapas. No baby chair but some space for the baby trolley.

Food is delicious, staff is amazing, interior is super cool, but be prepared for a hefty bill. ? will definitely be back though. The ginger prawns are divine!

My favorite restaurant in Munich!

This was exquisite. The service was super correct and excellent. The dishes.. were out of this world. Each delicatly balanced in strength and taste. Overall.. The best Asian food in Munchen.. It's this place.

Relaxed casual environment. Service was very good, friendly, timely and extremely helpful for first timers. The food was just on point and gave us flashbacks of our trip to Vietnam. Highly recommended

Good service but WAY TOO SLOW. Good food quality, but you need 4 dishes per person. Being a tapas bar, dishes must come way faster then they do here. We had to wait 20 min between each tapa having ordered all at the same time. This made us stop ordering more (just not to wait so much). It would have been ok if the dishes were big... but time is vital in a tapas bar, customers cant wait so much for so little amount.

Really enjoyed the dumplings (shrimp, pork and veggie type) and overall atmosphere.

Excellent food, great service. The atmosphere is very familiar and great for a great evening with friends or family to spend. Price safe in the slightly upscale segment, but you get very good quality and service. The review here is simple: 5 stars. Tip: Also book in advance during the week, otherwise it may happen that you can not get a seat.

I came here with my wife on my vacation to Munich and I have to say that this was the best Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been to! The food is so vibrant and amazingly fresh. We tried several seafood dishes and the TiVu Beef, it was so good and I would definitely come back if I ever come back to Munich. The staff was amazing and they speak great English which is great for tourists like me (since I don't speak any German). Highly recommended restaurant!!!

A great place to hang out. I am a great friend of the tapas principle: You can happily try the card and you do not have to decide on a big dish. That would be extremely sad in the case of the TiVu, but the menu offers a sumptuous selection of Far Eastern delicacies. Three to four dishes per person should be enough to fill you up. To emphasize is (not only) here the very attentive service, which does not blindly all dishes at once served, but in between also time to get air and enjoy. Absolutely recommendable! For two we had: eight dishes and three beers. We paid EUR 72.00 for this. Not cheap, but absolutely adequate. Try it!

Delicious and authentic Vietnamese food, super nice interior and atmosphere and super friendly staff. Definitely recommend and can't wait to go there again when I am back in Munich.

I was here on a business Dinner and it was absolutely delightful. The server handed us wet towels that smelled amazing which was surprising but extremely nice. We ordered a few salads as a starter and I loved them, the flavour was incredible and everything tasted so fresh. We tried many different dishes and there so many nuances in the texture and tastes. It was my first visit at TiVu and it certainly will not be my last. We had a great evening here and I can't wait to come here with my family to try more dishes! I can only recommend this place to anyone who likes a premier dining experience.

The assorted platter and grilled octopus was amazing. The staff was super kind, and I would definitely recommend the cheesecake. Had a wonderful evening!
